Home and Away confirms Martha and Roo's transplant outcome in emotional scenes

 How will the surgery go?

Home and Away has confirmed the outcome of Martha and Roo Stewart's transplant surgery in emotional scenes.

Viewers will know that Martha has been very ill for a number of months now, and daughter Roo has agreed to donate a kidney to her.

In the scenes, which are new to UK viewers, family friend Marilyn perceives that Roo is worried about being out of control during the transplant situation. Meanwhile, Roo confesses she can't relax until everything is over.

However, Marilyn suggests that she needs to be strong for her parents rather than her, which leaves Roo smiling.

Roo and Martha are later wheeled off to surgery after an understandably nervous Alf bids them goodbye. In the interim, he's left pacing in the waiting area, while Marilyn joins Alf and comforts him while he waits.

Thankfully, good news comes later on from the transplant coordinator, who reveals that Roo is out of surgery and doing well, after which Alf reunites with her.

Home and Away legend Ray Meagher brands Neighbours axe "a travesty"

However, there's still no word on Martha, before she is wheeled into the waiting room, much to the relief of everyone. Martha then says she feels triumphant.

Could hope finally be on the horizon for the Stewart family?
