Home and Away cast change sees new romance begin for Lacey Miller

Can Lacey move on after Theo?

Home and Away is lining up a new romance for Lacey Miller, as Sonny Baldwin’s younger brother Dylan arrives in Summer Bay. Fans know that Lacey has been struggling to move on since the death of her boyfriend Theo Poulos last year but could she be ready to take a chance on love again?

In scenes to air in Australia this week and a few weeks' time on Channel 5 in the UK, Dylan (played by Noah D’Annunzio), turns up unannounced in Summer Bay.

At Salt Dylan and Sonny run into Mali and Lacey and the newcomer quickly catches her eye. However Sonny is unsure about the real reason behind his brother's sudden arrival.

Later Lacey runs into Dylan again and he declare's looking for adventure. When Lacey agrees they almost kiss before she suddenly backs away and then runs.

At home, Lacey tells sister Jo that she hasn’t felt this way about anyone since Theo, leaving her torn between her grief and a potential new romance.

Speaking to TV Week Sophea Pennington, who plays Lacey, explained: "So much has happened in Lacey’s life: she lost her mum at an early age and she’s still grieving for Theo.

"It’s something she’ll do for the rest of her life. But she is also trying to find little ways to move on and do the things that Theo would’ve wanted her to do."

Meanwhile Sophea's real life romantic life is much bright as she's dating her former co-star Matt Evans, who played Theo.

"He's such a lovely, lovely guy and a great person to work with, extremely talented. So I couldn’t have asked for a better co-star," the actor said last April.

"Yes, we are dating in real life. He really is the best. And also, it works, you know, I guess chemistry's chemistry."

BBC finally confirms Waterloo Road return date as show's future is revealed

There's not too long to wait...

The BBC has officially confirmed that Waterloo Road will return for series 18 in January 2027. Fans of the long-running school drama have been wondering when the latest batch of episodes will hit our screens, but the release date as now been revealed as early next year.

This announcement comes alongside the news that Waterloo Road has been recommissioned for another new series. With series 19 already confirmed, series 20 is also in the pipeline and filming on these episodes is now underway in Greater Manchester.

It was previously announced that the episodes airing in January will see the return of original cast member Chelsee Healey as Janeece Bryant, with Lauren Hylton joining the show as student Cheryl, Janeece’s daughter.

Series 18 will also introduce a group of newly qualified teachers to the school, and the show has now released a first look image of new cast members Tashinga Bepete, Cora Kirk and Mollie Winnard as NQTs Edward Connell, Leah Merchant and Gemma Tully.

There are more new faces in the classroom this January as well, and it was announced earlier this year that joining the student cast in the next series are Leo Ashton (Liam Shaw), Callum Broome (Nathan Clark), Yousef Naseer (Ibrahim Azzi), Lewis Pemberton (Cane Morris) and Keelan Wright (Marshall Clark).

Cameron Roach, the show’s executive producer, said in a statement about the news: "When we brought Waterloo Road back, we were hopeful of a long-term future, so to be commissioned for a tenth series of the reboot really is an incredible achievement and testament to the exceptional creative team, cast and crew.

To have evolved a sustainable base for training and development of crew with our partners at Screen Manchester has been central to our mission and ensures clear pathways for new entrants into the sector.

"Above all, we thank the fans of the show who, series after series, are asking for more. It drives us all to be creatively ambitious for the iconic world of Waterloo Road."

Lindsay Salt, director of BBC Drama, added: "We’re so pleased to announce a new series of Waterloo Road, giving audiences the opportunity to follow the drama of the characters they’ve come to know and love.

"We look forward to seeing what the next chapter holds for the pupils and staff of Waterloo Road and can’t wait for the series to return this January."

EastEnders' Shona McGarty fuels wedding talk amid romance with former co-star

"I'm at the chapter where I've found my one."

Former EastEnders star Tony Discipline recently outlined his intentions to marry Shona McGarty, and it looks to have been a wise move as McGarty herself has returned the favour in a new interview.

The pair, who played Tyler Moon and Whitney Dean on the BBC soap respectively, confirmed earlier this year that they were in a relationship, with the announcement coming after fans had speculated about their bond for months.

And it seems that the couple are very much loved-up, with McGarty telling Closer (via The Sun): "I'm really happy, I've honestly found my one. Tony is the ultimate gentleman and he treats me like a queen."

He makes me laugh, he compliments me all the time and he genuinely wants me to do well. I just adore him. Straight away. We've always liked each other," added the star, who played Whitney for 16 years before departing in 2024.

While she sang his praises, McGarty also expressed her desire to marry her former co-star, noting: "I'd marry him tomorrow! In my book of life, I've got all these chapters that are part of my story but now I'm at the chapter where I've found my one."

Her words come just days after Discipline echoed the adorable sentiment, with the actor saying that he "absolutely" intended to tie the knot with the woman that he described as his "soulmate".

"That's the love of my life," he said as he attended one of his partner's West End productions. "I've known her [for] a long time. We've always had partners, so we never stepped over the line. But in the last year or so our chemistry has really come to light.

She's just the best woman in the world. Her energy, she's so funny, she makes me laugh every day. I'm a very lucky man to have her and she's got a beautiful voice, hasn't she? I don't want anyone else in my life. That's my woman, that's my soulmate."

While Discipline and McGarty are very much happy away from Walford, there's love - and trouble - in the air for some characters on the soap itself, with Mark Fowler and Lauren Branning's affair being discovered by Ned Hawkins.

Hollyoaks reveals Jenson's frightening next move – as Warren gets revenge

Warren has had enough of Jenson’s games.

Meanwhile, Warren and his former flame Gemma recently slept together, and the pair kept it secret from Mercedes.

In this week’s scenes, Gemma is in a difficult situation after her crypto crimes are exposed, so she asks Warren for help, threatening to tell Mercedes that they slept together unless he complies with her demands.

We also know that Jenson is an undercover police officer, which he is going to tell Dodger this week.

In scenes that will air next week, after spending the night with Mercedes, Jenson turns sinister when faced with rejection, and Mercedes is forced to play nice in hopes of escaping the dangerous situation.

Jenson confesses his love for Mercedes but refuses to let her out of his sight and Warren is furious when he hears what has happened.

Warren has had enough of Jenson’s games, so he plans to put an end to his brother's scheming ways once and for all.

When Dodger receives disturbing new information about Jenson, he is quick to let Mercedes know.

Meanwhile, Warren drags Theresa into the car, with Jenson in the boot. But before they leave the village, Theresa makes a discovery.

Jenson is really showing his true colours now," said our Hollyoaks insider. "And Mercedes is put in an increasingly dangerous situation."

They added: "When Warren gets word, he decides to take revenge on his half-brother once again. With Jenson put in the boot of the car, Warren leaves the village with Theresa in tow. But there are some big twists ahead in this dramatic week…"

With Gemma threatening to expose her tryst with Warren in this week's scenes, we can assume that Mercedes and Jenson sleep together in the aftermath.

 Cindy's out for blood...

EastEnders’ Cindy Beale and Max Branning’s feud escalates next week, when his bitter bride makes a shock discovery about her ex! As she tries to find a way to make Max pay for his betrayal, Cindy’s snooping unearths a startling secret…

"Max is about to realise how badly Cindy takes rejection," begins our EastEnders insider. "Not only does she want to prove she’s moved on after their split, she’s also determined to get revenge for being humiliated. But what she finds out is a game-changer and will make Max regret crossing Cindy!"

Cindy decided to go on her and Max’s honeymoon with frenemy Elaine instead. But this week she arrives home with a handsome young man called Rafael on her arm, whom she struck up a holiday romance with.

Max is miffed Cindy is rubbing her new lover in his face, but deep down he still feels bad for hurting her. He calls a truce and offers to help her out financially, knowing she’s struggling for money.

But Cindy’s suspicions are aroused that Max has another woman on the go when she finds a lipstick in his flat, and she vows to find out who it is. Soon, Cindy and Max’s ceasefire comes to an end when a row erupts between the pair.

"Cindy is seething Max already has a mystery woman!" reveals our source. "When she learns he wants to buy No.31 from Suki, and overhears him make an incriminating phone call, she flips.

"Max robbed Cindy of the future he promised her, and she wants to make him suffer by scuppering his fresh start. She trawls through the laptop they shared, and sees something that stops her in her track...

Armed with this new info, and on a mission to block Max’s purchase of the Panesar property, spiteful Cindy puts Suki off selling to the love rat. Her underhand tactics work and Suki rejects Max’s offer, leaving him fuming at Cindy’s interference.

Not only that, Cindy also alerts the tax man to the fact Max secretly owns a property in New Zealand – and because he’s not paid the proper tax on it, he’s slapped with hefty fine from HMRC!

Max wants an annulment to get Cindy out of his life, but to do that he’ll have to prove their union was never consummated beyond the vows. He ropes Oscar into helping him, but can the cheeky teen get the better of his stepmother?

Oscar tries to ply Cindy with booze, but she’s no fool," says our insider. "Meanwhile, Cindy is intrigued to learn of Kat’s revenge plan against the man who left Zoe to her tragic fate.

"Both women have axes to grind with blokes who’ve ruined their lives, and neither have clocked it’s the same man – not yet, anyway…"

With the walls closing in, Max panics when Cindy collars him and demands answers about what he’s hiding. Has she figured out he failed to save Zoe to protect his secret romance with Linda?

Here's a full collection of 12 big moments coming up.

Zane cuts ties with Marilyn

Mali returns from seeing Zane in prison and tells Alf that he was given a letter to pass on to Marilyn.

Alf initially keeps quiet about the letter, but hands it over to Marilyn after finding out that she was also planning on contacting Zane.

In the letter, Zane thanks Marilyn for all she's done, but says that prison is where he's meant to be and he won't be contacting her again.

Justin and Leah reach an understanding

Emotions are running high for Leah and Justin as the anniversary of Theo's death approaches.

The couple also remain at odds over Leah's decision to let Richie into their home. But as talk turns to Theo, Leah pleads with Justin to stop fighting and he backs down.

Peace is restored, but Leah and Justin decide they won't be telling David or Cash about Richie any time soon.

Tane faces an obstacle

Tane is buzzing with excitement as he prepares to spend time with Archie. But his good mood is shattered when Mali reveals there's an emergency road closure, meaning there's no way out.

John recalls an old story from his Navy days which inspires Tane to find another way to reach his son.

 Eden hatches a secret plan

It's Cash and Eden's first wedding anniversary, but Cash doesn't think a big fuss is what Eden needs right now.

Meanwhile, Eden tells Remi about the diet Cash found through an aplastic anaemia support group and hopes it will help manage her symptoms.

Eden also privately requests Remi's help to make her anniversary one to remember, especially given it might be the last one she and Cash have.

Lacey has news for Jo

Mackenzie pulls Sonny up at work after he messes up a wine order, and urges him to double-check in future.

Afterwards Sonny runs into Lacey and they talk about how much they're missing Theo a year on from his death.

Lacey returns home to find Jo is back from her specialist training and fills her sister in on Richie's return and how much time David is spending at Amelia's.

Lacey is missing Theo

In an effort to make Amelia feel welcome in their home, Jo invites her over for a family lunch.

Jo gives Amelia a warm greeting but Lacey, who's struggling with the anniversary of Theo's passing, is quiet and distant.

Lacey also questions whether they should leave photographs of their late mother on display but Jo insists they must stay put.

Amelia comes to Lacey's rescue

The Langhams' family lunch gets off to an awkward start when Jo mentions her mother, but Amelia cleverly keeps the conversation going.

When Lacey burns the pudding, Amelia comes to her rescue with a makeshift affogato.

Lacey is impressed and realises that if David can move on and be happy with Amelia, then maybe she can find love again after Theo.

Eden pulls off her anniversary surprise for Cash

Remi loops Levi and Mac into Eden's anniversary plans and gives them the task of getting Cash to the surprise party.

Levi fails in his mission not to blow Eden's cover, but Cash is touched to discover his wife has arranged a lunch for their friends and family in the most stunning setting.

Cash's gift to Eden is two tickets for a round-the-world trip, which they can take when she's feeling better.

Abigail and Richie are caught out

Remi overhears Levi and Abigail discussing Richie and realises she's dating the disgraced copper again.

Abigail promises she will tell Cash and Eden the truth, but only when the time is right. But Levi and Mac both feel she needs to come clean sooner rather than later.

Richie doesn't want Abigail getting any more grief and insists the news needs to come from him.

Richie faces Cash and Eden

Cash and Eden get a shock when Richie arrives at the door to say he's moved back to Summer Bay and rekindled things with Abigail.

Furious at being deceived by her own sister, Eden lays into Richie and Cash orders him to leave.

Richie reports back to Abigail, who feels guilty about the reaction he received.

Eden feels let down by her loved ones

Levi considers postponing his hand surgery to be there for Eden, but Mac promises she'll manage it in his absence.

Eden is upset and frustrated that Levi wouldn't have told her sooner about his operation and things get worse when she feels Mac is taking over her role as Abigail's big sister by offering her relationship advice.

Unable to hold back, Eden declares she's not dead yet.

 Lacey looks to the future

Lacey turns to David for advice, asking her dad when he knew it was the right time to find love again.

David admits that he never doubted his feelings for Amelia, which makes Lacey hopeful that she can love someone in the same way she did with Theo.
