Emmerdale's Moira overwhelmed as Faith's assisted death storyline continues

 The issue-based story continues.

Faith Dingle is refusing to let Moira get involved in her assisted death in Emmerdale.

Last week, Faith confided in Moira that she is planning to end her life to avoid having to deal with more physical decline due to her terminal cancer.

Moira initially refused to keep Faith's secret or be part of her assisted death, but has since had a change of heart.

In Tuesday's episode (September 27), Faith tried to keep up appearances by encouraging her family to have fun — and even buying a cake to celebrate life.

Cain tried to speak with Faith about care for her final days, and whether she'd be open to a hospice, but Faith repeatedly brushed him off.

"I'm not leaving here until we discuss this properly," Cain told her.

Cain, Chas and Moira all encouraged Faith to sort out what she wants for her palliative care "as soon as possible" so she can get on with enjoying the time she has left.

"I've got nothing to tell you. I know how it's going to end. It's all been taken care of," she blurted out.

When Cain demanded to know what she meant, Faith snapped as she ordered her children and daughter-in-law to "back off" and leave her alone.

Everything settled down as Cain explained that he was trying to change his ways, telling her: "Maybe this is the last thing I can do for you."

Later, Moira turned up alone to encourage Faith to tell Chas and Cain the truth about her plans to end her life before she gets to the hospice stage

"You're gonna have to be a bit more honest with me," Moira demanded.

Moira felt she was entitled to know the details of the plan, but Faith refused to share anything in order to prevent Moira from being "implicated".

Emmerdale to reveal Mackenzie Boyd's mystery lover

"You do know that assisting a suicide is still technically a crime," Faith pointed out. "We can't look like any of this is being arranged."

Faith stressed that Moira needs to be able to tell police she didn't know "what was going on", adding: "[Tell them] you found me dying and it was too late to save me."

"It will be down to me and you will be in the clear," Faith insisted.

But is Moira comfortable with Faith's final plan of action?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
