Home and Away's Xander Delaney surprises Rose after sad death

The paramedic gets some tragic news.

Xander Delaney will surprise Rose following news of a sad death in Home and Away.

Upcoming scenes on Channel 5 will feature paramedic Xander once again having to cope with the loss of a patient, though this time he has a very different reaction.

In the past, Xander losing a patient on the job has been detrimental to his mental health, to the point that he's even made a pledge to get a tattoo each time he loses someone.

These constant reminders of the most difficult moments for a paramedic have led Xander's loved ones to worry about how he is coping with the job.

New scenes will first see Xander feeling better than ever about his work, as he shares with sister Rose that he almost delivered a baby and is finally feeling like himself again on the job.

However, Xander soon faces a setback when he gets a call informing him that one of his former patients had passed away.

This time, Xander tries to put on a brave face by promising Rose that he's not taking the situation personally. Plus, this patient passed away from a health condition unconnected to his recent treatment.

Rose isn't so sure Xander is being honest about how he's truly feeling, since he's gone to very dark places in the past after losing someone.

Viewers will need to tune in, at UK pace, to find out whether Rose is right to be concerned for her brother's emotional well-being.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.

Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.
