Former Home and Away star Sharni Vinson returning to screens with reality TV role
Another H&A star's fiancé is also taking part.
Former Home and Away star Sharni Vinson has landed herself a new reality TV project.
The actress played Cassie Turner in the soap between 2005 and 2008. Cassie was involved in some major storylines addressing several serious topics, including abuse in childhood, domestic abuse and living with HIV.
After her departure from the soap, Vinson went to Hollywood, starring in films from Step Up 3D to horror movie You're Next.
Now, it has been revealed that she is returning to Australian screens in Survivor: Heroes v Villains, which premieres on Channel 10 on January 30.
This series features returning Survivor contestants with
newcomers and splits them into two tribes, heroes and villains.
In a promo, Sharni is revealed as one of the heroes, stating: "
Everybody knows that the hero always wins."
She also talks about how being in a horror film has taught her survival skills,
and she is considered to be a 'scream queen'.
Will she prove useful to her team?
Interestingly, one of the competitors on the villains side is
returning Survivor star Jordie Hansen,
who is due to get married to another former Home and Away star, Sam Frost.
The couple are also expecting a baby together soon.
Over on the soap, it was recently announced that
rapper and actor Kyle Shilling was joining
Home and Away's cast as newcomer Mali Hudson, a character with
connections to a Summer Bay resident.
His first scenes have already aired on Australian TV,
with his link to a fan-favourite character revealed.
