Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou left bed-ridden after sneezing incident
"I don’t know when it’s going to heal."
Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou has been left bed-ridden following a sneezing incident.
The actress, who plays Leah Patterson-Baker on the Australian soap, revealed on her Instagram Story that the incident occurred on Thursday, with a sneeze leaving her in “excruciating pain.”
“I couldn’t walk, I couldn’t do anything,” she added in the clip. “I had to basically lie flat on my back. I think I’ve got a bulging disc and now I can’t feel my leg – I don’t know when it’s going to heal, so yay to me sneezing.”
Ada updated her followers with a subsequent post, in which she asked fans for suggestions to pass the time given her inability to move: “Didn’t know a sneeze could cause so much damage,” she wrote.
“I’ve now been told I need to rest and take it easy till I heal. Anyone suggest some books or TV shows for me? I need suggestions so I don’t go insane,” she concluded.
Ada has appeared on Home and Away since 2000, taking a short break in 2012 as she gave birth to her child; it is currently unknown if her injury will result in another absence.

In September last year, Ada revealed she had no plans to leave Summer Bay in the near future, saying the soap is now “a part of [her] life.”
“I am really happy here; I enjoy it. I have great friends, why would I leave such a great job?” she said. “I have been doing it for so long that it's part of my life now. I manage to still be mum, and a partner, and to work – it's a great lifestyle.
“Yeah, there are long hours, and you have your challenging days but overall, it's a really fun job, working with people you enjoy working with, and I get to travel, and go to great events like Telethon and meet amazing people,” she added.
Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
