Neighbours star Ben Hall reveals whether Ned will return for show revival

 "I'd love to be there."

Neighbours star Ben Hall has confirmed his character won't go back for the soap revival, though he's down to consider returning to Ramsay Street in the future.

The actor, known for the role of Ned Willis on the Aussie series, shared a video message with a Neighbours superfan on Twitter. In the clip, Hall weighs in on whether viewers will get to see him as the series heads to Freevee for a fresh batch of episodes following news of an initial cancellation last year.

"Am I considering going back? Ned has not been asked back. I can tell you that he's not going back at this point in time," he said in the video.

Hall first said goodbye to Neighbours ahead of what was believed to be the show's last-ever episode. He then returned for the grand finale, now saying he'd be open to reprise the role of Ned further down the line.

"It is Neighbours, you never know what's gonna happen... I could get a call tomorrow and [they could say], 'Hey, can you come in?'" he said in the video.

"It's not far away from me, it's actually just down the road so..." he continued.

"If they deign to bring back Ned Willis, then I'd love to be there," he finally said, adding: "I'd love to see everyone again, actually. I'm missing everyone."

Neighbours returns in the second half of 2023 with new episodes streaming free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. Network 10 will retain first-run rights in Australia for the new series.
