Hollyoaks to reveal Rayne Royce's dark side as Juliet story continues

There's trouble at the share house.

Hollyoaks reveals a nastier edge to newcomer Rayne Royce next week, as she behaves insensitively at the share house.

While Romeo Nightingale is smitten with the online influencer, upcoming episodes will confirm that Rayne has a darker side.

Romeo's sister Juliet was diagnosed with cancer last year and was later told that her illness was terminal. Show bosses have confirmed that Juliet's final scenes will air soon.

In next week's episodes, Nadira Valli struggles as Juliet's condition is deteriorating quickly.

As Nadira still cares deeply for her ex-girlfriend, Lacey Lloyd spots how emotional she's feeling and tries to show support.

The atmosphere at the share house turns sour when Rayne manages to put her foot in it.

Things get worse as Nadira accuses Rayne of disrespectfully flaunting her social life while Juliet is dying.

Later in the week, a premature online post from Rayne leads to Nadira finding out some heartbreaking news.

Lacey sticks up for Nadira in the latest row and everyone makes amends, but Rayne's spiteful side is soon revealed as she has some cruel words for Nadira at the worst possible time.

Is this only the beginning of things to come with Rayne?

Speaking about the upcoming scenes, Ashling O'Shea – who plays Nadira – explained: "I think Rayne finds it difficult to not be the centre of everyone's world.

"So, with so much focus being on Juliet, and now some of Lacey's focus being on Nadira, Rayne is struggling.

"Nadira is going through a world of pain that she doesn't truly feel able to express right now so Rayne's selfishness is really the last thing she needs."

Asked how the death of Juliet will affect Nadira, Ashling replied: "It will break her heart. Nadira's mother died of cancer and now the love of her life – so far – is going to die too.

"This disease has taken two of the most important women in her life, the woman who gave her life and the woman who encouraged her to live a new, freer life in her queerness.

"Nadira is incredibly respectful of family so knows her place is not in the heart of everything, but that also means she will feel alone in the grief and feel like she doesn't have a right to feel it.

"I think this will be something that hurts her for the rest of her life. You never forget your first love."

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
