Home and Away's Cash and Eden face engagement row after prank goes wrong

A ring prank makes Eden question their relationship.

Home and Away's Cash Newman and Eden Fowler will face a row over their future in scenes airing in the UK this week, as an engagement prank goes awry.

Cash's sister Felicity and her partner Tane Parata will finally tie the knot this week, after their previous attempt at a wedding ended in disaster, and Cash and Eden will be right by the couple's side to help them celebrate.

However, Cash will face a huge shock when he wakes up hungover the morning after the wedding and discovers that the engagement ring that he previously bought for his ex, Jasmine, is now firmly on Eden's finger.

Unable to remember what happened after the wedding celebrations after drinking too much, Cash has no idea how the ring came to be on Eden's finger and he starts to panic.

When Eden realises that her boyfriend can't remember the events of the previous night, she decides to play a prank on him, pretending that he proposed to her. Reluctant to crush Eden's buoyant mood, Cash plays along and acts as if he planned the engagement.

However, when Cash's guilt overwhelms him and he admits his ignorance, Eden reveals all by clarifying that the whole thing was just a prank and that the couple aren't engaged after all.

An upset Cash doesn't see the humour in the situation and, when Eden struggles to get the ring off her finger, he becomes frantic.

Eden's pride soon feels wounded and she wonders just why Cash seems to hate the idea of being engaged to her so much, questioning whether the idea of marrying her is so intolerable.

Bruised Eden comes to the conclusion that there are two types of women: the kind that men marry, and the ones they don't. As her prank appears to have backfired so badly, Eden becomes convinced that she must be the latter.

But Cash soon proves otherwise, as he gifts musician Eden a new charm bracelet complete with a treble clef charm.

He then discards the old engagement ring, ready to move on from his past and make new and happier memories with Eden.

Engagement may not be on the cards for the couple for now, but it seems that their romance may be getting back on the right track...

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First-look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
