Natalie Imbruglia tempted for Neighbours return with Guy Pearce

Natalie Imbruglia has revealed she'd be tempted to return to Neighbours, as the beloved soap returns to our screens.

The 48-year-old singer played Beth Brennan in the Australian soap, which originally ran from 1985 until last year, and reprised her role in the finale last year.

And she's now admitted she'd be keen to make a return.

Appearing on Wednesday's Good Morning Britain, the Torn hitmaker teased: 'You never know.'

When asked by host Ed Balls if she would be 'tempted' back, she said: 'Never say never.'

Natalie added that she 'hopes' the 'phenomenal' Guy Pearce is returning, after rumours of his cameo appearance.

'They haven't approached me,' she quickly added, continuing: 'But I mean, if Guy Pearce is coming back I'd have to consider it.

'I'd love to do something with Guy.'

Talking about her appearance in the finale, before it was announced that Neighbours would actually be returning, she added: 'I wonder if they knew when we shot that, we didn't know anything about this other re-emergence of Neighbours.

'It was actually Holly Candy who said to me, "Are you doing this thing?"

'And I said, "I will if you will," and we weren't even on the show together so it was so fun to do it with her.

'Obviously it made no sense, but it was the final episode and it was about saying thank you to the show because that's where my career started.'

Natalie's comments come after Guy was announced to return in the reboot as Mike Young.

Last year, the 55-year-old was among several big names who returned to his roots to pay homage to the programme, alongside Natalie and Holly, Jason Donovan, Kylie Minogue and Margot Robbie.

Executive producer Jason Herbison confirmed in a statement that the Iron Man 3 actor will now be reprising his role on the Channel 10 show.

‘We are delighted that Guy is returning to continue Mike and Jane’s reunion, it was a highlight of last year’s finale and (there is) definitely more story to tell for these much-loved characters,’ he told The Sun Herald, via Daily Mail Australia.

Guy had also previously hinted at his return in an interview before confirming that it was officially in the works.

Neighbours will return on Amazon Freevee this year.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1.
