Coronation Street's Sarah Barlow finally reads baby's DNA test results

 Not before Stephen got involved...

Sarah Barlow has finally discovered the results of her baby's DNA test in Coronation Street.

Last week, the soap confirmed that killer Stephen would soon get involved in Sarah's paternity drama, which finally played out in Wednesday's episode (July 26).

Sarah has refused to find out whether Adam or Damon is the biological father of her baby, yet she's made her husband believe the testing has confirmed he's the dad.

Meanwhile, Stephen has just split with partner Elaine after she found out he'd signed forged life insurance papers in her name. With Elaine having exited the cobbles, Stephen has moved on to wooing Jenny Connor.

Stephen was irate in the latest episode when he found Elaine's son Tim tossing all of his belongings out of their flat, but when Sarah arrived, she spotted her paternity results in amongst the rubbish.

Sarah questioned Stephen on why he'd had her paternity results, leading the murderer to spin another lie about how he'd found them in the bin and assumed she'd want them.

Stephen promised he hadn't looked at the results, so Sarah confessed to him that she was too scared to find out whether Damon could be her baby's father.

Much to Sarah's chagrin, Stephen encouraged her to read the letter because it was the only way she'd ever know the truth. Sarah followed his advice but broke down in tears as she read the letter.

Elsewhere in the episode, Adam clocked Sarah looking nervous when they were asked at a hospital appointment about possible genetic testing on the baby.

Adam nearly suffered another panic attack as he shared his anxieties with Daniel. He would later tell Sarah they needed to settle the matter once and for all by requesting written results from the hospital.

Will Sarah crack under all this pressure?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
