Former Neighbours stars Travis Burns and Emma Lane have announced that they are expecting their first baby.

The pair, who played Tyler Brennan and Courtney Grixti respectively on the soap, tied the knot back in 2017, and today shared via Travis’ social media channels that they were expecting their first child together.

“Baby Burns coming Dec 2023 🤍” wrote Travis in the caption on Instagram, accompanying a video of the couple on the beach as Emma showcased her baby bump.

Stars of the soap congratulated the couple on their news, with Karl Kennedy actor Alan Fletcher writing: “So loving the thought of you both as parents. Huge love to you both.”

Matt Wilson, who played Travis’ on-screen half-brother Aaron, also had some kind and lighthearted words, writing: “@alanfletcher says that first shot is out of focus. Oh and congratulations. There’s a room at his house whenever you like.”

In more recent news on the soap, which is returning on Amazon Freevee later this year, Xavier Molyneux was announced as Joe Klocek’s replacement in the role of Byron Stone, with the former Big Brother Australia star expressing his excitement at joining the show.

“It’s difficult to describe what joining Neighbours has meant to me, having watched it growing up with my sisters pretzeled around our television. It was The Simpsons and Neighbours every night without fail,” he revealed. “It's been a huge change of pace from working as a Paramedic with NSW Ambulance but I've had some great people helping me along the way.

“I did my first scene with my on-screen mum Annie Jones. Besides just watching and learning from how she effortlessly floats through scenes, Annie has been an amazing sounding board and of course great fun finding my feet alongside Mischa Barton. See you on Ramsay Street,” he added.

Neighbours returns in the second half of 2023 with new episodes streaming free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. Network 10 will retain first-run rights in Australia for the new series.
