Hollyoaks' Romeo Nightingale finally confronts Rayne Royce

 Romeo has doubts about his relationship with Rayne.

Hollyoaks has aired a tense confrontation between Rayne Royce and Romeo Nightingale, as the influencer's obsession with her social media continues.

Recent weeks have seen Rayne grow increasingly jealous, driving a wedge between Romeo and his loved ones as well as causing disruption at Juliet Nightingale's funeral.

In tonight's first look episode (July 21) an angry Romeo confronted his girlfriend after she posted a social media video about grief following the death of his sister.

Asking Prince for his thoughts, Romeo said that he didn't understand why she'd post the video online rather than say it to him in person.

"This is different, I've lost my sister," he said. "I don't want anyone I know, including the person I love, using it for clickbait.

"The thing is with her, I don't know what's real and what's content for her followers."

Meeting up by the Love Boat, Romeo confronted his girlfriend about the video after she complained about the attention a fellow influencer's profile was receiving. When questioned on the level of engagement that the video had received, Rayne revealed that she'd made the video available to Romeo only.

"I'm here for you," she reassured. "And I would never exploit your grief for likes."

Content with her explanation Romeo went inside for a moment, leaving Rayne secretly rewatching the video by herself and smiling as it mentioned her former boyfriend Brent.

Later on in a post-credit scene, the influencer's mood improved further as she could be seen purchasing followers in order to boost her online presence.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
