Neighbours' David Tanaka to issue a major ultimatum to Aaron Brennan

What will this mean for their future?

Neighbours couple David Tanaka and Aaron Brennan find themselves at odds over their future in next week's episodes.

The fan favourites recently returned to Erinsborough to share their role in the secrets being kept by Paul Robinson and Melanie Pearson, but they're now at a crossroads over their next move.

David and Aaron headed back home alongside Nicolette Stone, who's under pressure to stick around permanently as her mum Jane Harris has missed her so much.

Next week's episodes see Paul try to make life easier for all concerned after receiving an unexpected request from Nicolette.

Paul visits Aaron and David, promising that he'd respectfully stay away from them if they decided to return to Erinsborough on a permanent basis.

The ruthless businessman hopes this will be enough to pacify David, who's currently estranged from him following the drama involving Krista Sinclair.

Despite this, David remains dubious and tells Aaron that he feels like he's a worse person when he's around Paul.

David adds that time away from Erinsborough has made him happier than ever before, but it's clear that Aaron doesn't feel the same way.

Aaron admits that he isn't happy and wants to live in Erinsborough again, which leaves the couple in a difficult situation.

David takes matters into his own hands by presenting Aaron with an ultimatum, but what will this mean for their future?

Takaya Honda and Matt Wilson reprised their roles as David and Aaron in last week's special flashback episodes. Meanwhile, Hannah Monson has taken over from Charlotte Chimes in the role of Nicolette.

Takaya commented: "For both of us, it's always been about the story, so it's that question of, 'What's the story and how are we going to fit into this 'New Neighbours' and what is this 'New Neighbours?'

We didn't know at that stage how many episodes were going to be on a week, how many episodes were going be on a year and it was like everyone was living in the dark.

"It was really then about, 'Okay, let's just get some information first because we're still trying to process the whole thing and then we can figure out from there where we go'.

"Ultimately, I think for both of us the story that Jason Herbison, our executive producer, pitched to us was something that was really intriguing to get us back onto the show and kick it off and the larger story that was happening on the show itself.

"We could tell that there was something different happening on the show, so we wanted to be a part of that, really."

Neighbours airs David's ultimatum on Tuesday, November 28.

Neighbours releases new episodes from Mondays to Thursdays for free on Amazon Freevee in the UK and US. In Australia, the show airs from Mondays to Thursdays at 4pm on Channel 10, with a 6.30pm repeat screening on 10 Peach.
