Real-life Hollyoaks couple share message with fans after Rayne Royce killer reveal

"It's about to get real, real juicy."

Real-life Hollyoaks couple Owen Warner and Jemma Donovan have shared a message to fans following the reveal of Rayne Royce's killer.

The soap has been airing a whodunnit mystery over the past few months regarding who killed Rayne last year, with recent scenes confirming that Owen's character Romeo was the culprit.

Following the reveal, Owen appeared in a clip posted on Hollyoaks' Instagram account as he addressed the big storyline for the first time.

"Hey guys, hope you're alright," he began. "If you're watching this, you've probably seen the E4 episode revealing who the murderer is.

"If you've not seen who it is, then stop watching now because… [I] did it. Sorry. Feel like I've been stringing you along for ages.

"I killed her," the star added as he brought girlfriend and Rayne actress Jemma into shot, who tried to remain silent. "It was me all along. Nothing to say? No, she's dead."

"I'm meant to be dead!" Jemma noted of her quietness.

"We’re still in character. Very professional," Owen quipped. "But yeah keep watching because it's about to get real, real juicy. Tune in."

The reveal scenes saw audiences learn that Romeo accidentally killed Rayne following a poolside showdown.

Romeo later decided to head to the police station to hand himself in, though was bungled into a van and kidnapped before being able to confess.

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day, before getting their YouTube premiere a week after that.
