Home and Away's Matt Evans seeks romantic advice from fans

"I’ve always struggled with commitment issues in relationships."

Home and Away star Matt Evans has sought romantic advice from fans of the soap as he aimed to improve his love life.

The star, who plays Theo Poulos on the Australian soap, has previously spoken about his difficult time with relationships, revealing in 2022 that he doesn’t “fall in love very easily”.

Despite his previous admission, Matt took to Instagram to ask for advice from his followers, with the star seeking clarity on a potential suitor.

“Okay, so I need some advice,” he began. “I’ve always struggled with commitment issues in relationships. Now here’s my question about a relationship, right. If they take three to four business days to reply to you, what do you reckon? That’s like too long, right?

“Like you can take a few hours or something because you’ve been busy but like three to four business days, I don’t know about that. I feel like there could be something else going on, or they’re just too polite to say it’s not a vibe. I don’t know — is it too long?”

The consensus in the comment section seemed to be that Evans was wasting his time, with co-star Jessica Redmayne writing: “Playing games - get rid of them.” Sophie Dillman, who played Ziggy Astoni, also commented, adding: “CUTHER”

Evans had recently released his debut single, ‘Sold’, the lyrics of which detailed his struggle with occasionally being plunged into a relationship when his “heart wasn’t ready.”

“Having commitment issues for me has always been a sign that something isn't right or more importantly I just don't feel ready. this is for anyone who feels they haven't found their somebody yet x,” he said of the meaning behind the song.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with repeat screenings at 6pm on 5STAR and first look screenings at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in the UK.
