Hollyoaks to provide urgent update on Lucas after dramatic surgery

Hollyoaks is set to provide an urgent update on Lucas Hay following his dramatic surgery.

Lucas' world was turned upside down recently when he mysteriously collapsed in his home and was rushed to hospital. The teenager was tragically diagnosed with a brain tumour and shocked his dad Ste when he refused to undergo surgery.

After eventually agreeing to the risky procedure, this week's episodes saw Lucas taken into the operating theatre, while his family anxiously awaited news. Ste was devastated to learn that his son had suffered an unexpected bleed on the brain, though the surgeons were later able to get it under control.

Meanwhile, Ste was also horrified when Nancy and Darren Osborne revealed that his boyfriend Rex Gallagher had been grooming vulnerable children, including Frankie. As he went in search of an explanation, he found Rex bidding in dark web auction to try to buy Dillon.

Unbeknownst to Ste, Rex no longer wanted to be a part of the grooming gang, and was working with undercover policeman Dodger Savage to save the kidnapped teens. He revealed the truth about his past but horrified Ste firmly ended things between them.

In next week's episodes, distracted Ste returns to the hospital to support his son. Still reeling over his discovery about Rex, Ste is interrupted by Misbah who has urgent news regarding Lucas.

It's been an incredibly stressful time for Ste," our Hollyoaks insider explains, "and the revelations about Rex have turned his world upside down. He hasn't been able to fully focus on his son, whose life-saving operation took a dangerous turn.
