Home and Away releases tense trailer as former star returns after 6-year gap
"So, it is you."
Home and Away has released a tense trailer which sees the return of Jeremy Lindsay Taylor after six years.
It was recently announced that the former star would be re-joining the cast of Home and Away, having previously made appearances on the show between 2016 and 2019.
Taylor first arrived in Summer Bay as corrupt detective Dylan Carter, but will now be playing Sergeant David Langham – with no connection to his past character.
In the dramatic trailer, posted on the soap's Instagram page, the new sergeant wastes no time putting his foot down at Yabbie Creek Police Station.
He immediately apprehends senior constable Cash Newman for taking Tane Parata with him on a rescue mission, after Theo, Lacey, Sonny and Dana were ambushed by the River Boys.
"You allowed a civilian to assist in a dangerous rescue operation," he states. "We're not in the business of taking our mates to police rescues."
Meanwhile, the trailer teases that the "new cop in town" has got "a deep, dark secret", before revealing his existing connection to Lacey.
"So, it is you," David says when he sees her at the station, adding: "It's so good to see you." However, Lacey isn't as enthused by the reunion, telling him: "I can't say the same about you."
Cash notices the tension between the pair, and David reveals that Lacey is his daughter, before trying to make amends.
David asks Lacey if her cold reception is "really how it's going to be", and she firmly tells him that she wants nothing to do with him. Will David be able to fix their broken relationship?
