Home and Away's Tane left devastated in wedding fallout

Home and Away's Tane Parata is left stunned next week as Harper Matheson threatens to cut ties with him forever.

Tane fears being left out of his baby son's life after Harper cancels their wedding at the eleventh hour.

The drama unfolds after Tane is challenged to be honest over how he feels about Harper.

Tane's best man Cash Newman, who's had doubts for several weeks, quizzes his friend on whether he loves the woman he's supposed to be marrying.

Awkwardly, Harper overhears the conversation and she tells Tane that she'd like an answer to the same question…

"Harper's been struggling for weeks to raise her own doubts with Tane," our Home and Away source explains.

"She still has no idea what she's entering into, as Tane seems so closed-off about his feelings. The moment that Harper stumbles across Tane's heart-to-heart with Cash is her perfect moment to get some answers."

Much to Harper's surprise, Tane responds truthfully after weeks of being distant and evasive. Tane confirms that he doesn't love Harper, but he cares for her deeply and still wants them to get married for the sake of their unborn son Archie.

Harper initially agrees that it's the best idea for both of them, but when the morning of the ceremony arrives, she realises that she can't go through with it.

Turning up on Tane's doorstep, Harper shocks him by announcing that it's time to stop pretending and the wedding is off.

"Harper feels empowered by her decision as she knows that she deserves much more than a loveless marriage," our insider adds.

"She's dreamt about her wedding day for years and wants her future to be with someone who's head-over-heels for her. Harper also thinks it wouldn't be fair on Archie for him to be brought up around a lie."

Later in the week, Tane and Harper meet up for an honest chat on where they go from here, as they want to do what's best for Archie once he's born.

Tane suggests returning to their original co-parenting agreement, which was in place before they tried to make things work as a couple.

Still vulnerable after her whirlwind few months, Harper gets upset as Tane seems to be acting like nothing has really changed. In the heat of the moment, she tells Tane that she won't let him be part of Archie's life at all.

Cash is forced to step in as things get heated between the former couple. Can they put their emotions to one side and do what's best for Archie?
