Home and Away confirms star's exit storyline after three years

 A bittersweet departure.

Home and Away airs Kirby Aramoana's exit storyline next week, as she accepts a life-changing opportunity and heads out of Summer Bay for good.

Kirby is overjoyed when she learns that the hype surrounding her new direction as a solo artist has led to an unexpected opportunity she can't turn down.

After Kirby's successful album launch, her manager Justin Morgan takes calls from potential venues who want her to perform.

Shortly afterwards, a more serious call comes through regarding a long-term commitment which would take Kirby around Europe.

"Justin learns that The Chosen – a globally successful band – want Kirby to join them on their new tour," our Home and Away source explains.

"Kirby's overwhelmed by the news, as it's a huge commitment which would see her performing at concerts for the next year. But Justin is desperate for Kirby to see that she can handle the pressure – she has potential to be a huge star."

When Kirby's former Lyrik bandmate Remi Carter finds out about the opportunity, he also encourages her to grab it with both hands. He points out that, if Kirby doesn't take this chance, she'll always be wondering about what could have been.

Before long, Kirby and Justin arrange to meet with The Chosen's management team to discuss next steps. After talking everything through, Kirby signs up for the year-long tour, but this will mean leaving Summer Bay for good...

"Remi and Eden hope they'll still have a decent amount of time to spend with Kirby before she leaves, but she reveals that she'll be jetting off the next day," our insider adds.

"While it's tough news to hear, Remi and Eden focus on being happy for Kirby and supporting her fresh start."

The next day, Kirby heads off in a pink convertible, with a group of close friends nearby to wish her well.

Angelina Thomson has now left the role of Kirby after a three-year stint in the show.

Home and Away airs Kirby's exit scenes on Friday 8 August on Channel 5.
