She is shunned by some Summer Bay residents...
Harper Matheson will face backlash on Home and Away, all while the exit fears for Tane Parata continue to grow. As part of a gripping storyline, the former couple have been at loggerheads for weeks.
The pair warred over custody for their son Archie, but things took a turn for the worse following the arrival of Harper's mother, Kerrie, in Summer Bay. She immediately tried to support her daughter, which meant bad news for Tane.
Tane was subsequently arrested for the dealing and possession of drugs, though he maintained his innocence. After a while, it soon became apparent that Kerrie had framed him for the crime, with the schemer retaliating after she was told to leave.
In upcoming scenes set to air in Australia, the fallout of the situation will continue, with Dana criticising her sister Harper for letting their mother back into their lives. Harper is also shunned by Mack, who refuses to serve her.
She does have some support from Jo, though she is not greatly comforted by it. Cash also attempts to help her out, namely by trying to find a lead regarding Kerrie's planting of the drugs.
They attempt to work out who supplied the drugs, hoping that this information would lead to Tane being freed. But with Kerrie seemingly nowhere to be seen, could Tane face a substantial amount of time behind bars?"Harper consistently attempts to reach Kerrie, knowing full well that this is Kerrie’s handiwork," explained Jessica Redmayne, who has played Harper since 2023, in an interview with TV Week.
Ally Harris, who portrays Dana, also shed some light on her character's difficult relationship with Kerrie, explaining: "Before Kerrie even arrives in the Bay, the very concept of her divides the sisters.
"You see how memories and our interpretation of them varies depending on the person. There’s a lot of childhood wounds that haven’t been healed and childhood dreams that were never realised."
