"Ricky's kind of in this new era."
Home and Away actor Bonnie Sveen has spoken about the long-awaited return of Ricky Sharpe and Darryl 'Brax' Braxton, which airs in the UK this week as Tane Parata goes on the run.
Tane has been framed and makes the drastic decision to flee to Western Australia. He meets up with Brax and Ricky, who aren't sure whether to help him and risk the life they've built.
"She settled, she knows herself, she's kind of softened round the edges a little bit from where she was when she was last in the show. And her and Brax are in a really solid place."
She added: "So with Casey, we kind of feel safe, you know? Then it's Ricky and Brax, so of course that's not going to last very long.
"And the high stakes drama comes back in. But I guess, Ricky's kind of in this new era 10 years later, being that voice of reason. She's a mum now, which we never saw, and you want to keep your kids safe.
The actor also touched on how living in the Outback specifically has informed how Ricky has changed, and how she brought her own experience of growing up on a farm to her performance.
Fans will be excited to know that, while Brax and Ricky are re-introduced in this Outback storyline, they will eventually return to Summer Bay.
