Lynne McGranger has revealed that she once flew into a very public rage at a colleague on the set of Home and Away

The veteran soap star, 73, clashed repeatedly with the unnamed person while filming the Channel Seven show – and eventually cracked.

'There was a time where I felt bullied, doesn't matter how old you are,' McGranger told the Cracking On podcast this week.

'One day it just got… because I'm a bit of a red mist person… I'll put up with that stuff, put up with stuff and then I just lose it.'

Lynne then detailed how she blew up on set, with extras and other cast members getting a front-row seat to her anger.

'Of course we're in a situation where almost the whole cast was there, and extras, because why do something in private?' she said.

'And I just remember saying to this person: 'Are you always an a**hole or is it just towards me?' and this person said, "Oh it's just towards you" and I went: "I thought so".'

The fury had the desired response, with McGranger saying that the culprit left her alone after that.

'You know what? Never again. Never again!' she said.

Daily Mail has reached out to Channel Seven for comment.

McGranger closed a chapter on her illustrious soap opera career last year as she finished up at Seven's long-running serial after over 30 years in the cast.

The actress filmed her final scenes for Home and Away, with the series sharing moving scenes from her last day on set.

'I've had the ride of my life. And I love each and every one of you so much: The cast – Ray, Georgie, Emily, Shane, Ada, James, all the youngins' she said in a statement.

'The art department, the writers, everybody – there's so many unsung heroes. This show is made up of so many parts,' Lynne continued.

'You're all amazing, and it's been my great privilege to work with each and every one of you. I'm touched, I'm humbled and I'm so honoured. Thank you so much.'

Lynne had been a Home and Away fan favourite for three decades playing the character of 'Aussie battler' Irene Roberts.

She announced her departure from the show with a statement last year.

'After almost 33 years in my dream role and working everyday with people who I love, respect and whom I now consider family, it's bittersweet to be closing the chapter on what has been the best and longest gig of my life,' the veteran star said at the time.

'I am forever grateful to the best production crew in the world and to our genius writers – whose doors are always open – for everything they have done for Irene over the past 33-odd years,' she continued.

'And I am so proud of the storyline which will see Irene out of the Bay. Above all, a massive, heartfelt thank you to the fans for your continued love and support.'
