"I’m stoked to see they left it in."
Kyle Shilling had fans rolling with laughter after cheekily changing a line in a recent episode of Home and Away that aired in Australia. His character Mali has struck up an unlikely friendship with John Palmer shortly after moving to the Bay.
It seems their relationship is just as friendly off-screen, with Shilling getting a cheeky jab past scriptwriters to "make fun" of his co-star.
"Must be nice to choose your own work hours, hey, can't wait til I'm old enough for semi-retirement," Palmer says to Mali.
Alf hears this and quickly replies: "I'm going to see my wife, and a break from you and my daughter won't hurt either."
Palmer stuck his thumb up to Alf and simply responded, "all good", which Mali then mocked, getting a cheeky slap from his friend in an interaction that was entirely off the cuff.
Sharing the interaction on Instagram, Shilling wrote in the caption: "My final line was randomly thrown in just to make fun of @shanewithingtonactor and I’m stoked to see they left it in ...
Responding in the comments, the official Home and Away Instagram page wrote: "Good from you 👏."
Script co-ordinator Alex Giles added: "The ONE line in this ep I can’t take the credit for hahahaha but possibly the best one 😂 thanks for being such a talented bloke!!!"
Australian TikTok personality Hunter Roberts said: "Not even acting at this point, I swear you and I have this exact interaction."
This fun moment comes as scenes airing this week in the UK will see Mali and Abigail Fowler call time on their relationship after clashing over what's best for Lacey.
Mali and Abigail have an honest chat, which results in them agreeing to go their separate ways.
