Home and Away's James Stewart teases future on soap amid impressive 10-year milestone

Home and Away's James Stewart has teased his future on the soap amid his impressive ten-year milestone. The actor has played the beloved Justin Morgan since 2016, and hopes to stay in the role for many years to come.

"What an incredible decade it's been," Stewart told TV Week. "My daughter and I often go back through photos on my phone – which have become sort of an archive of history for people now – and we arrived in Sydney when Scout was only four."

Stewart recalled his relief when he landed the role, which he said provided him some "stability" as a single father. Though he initially signed on for three years, the popular character quickly became a fixture on the soap.

When I was offered this job, I thought, 'Okay. Here's something I can sink my teeth into and sign for three years', which enabled some stability. I put my daughter through school and had a steady income.

"What started happening, unknowingly, to me was that I began to build a family."

Addressing whether fans will get to see another ten years of Justin, Stewart remained tight-lipped, but confirmed that he would like to stay on Home and Away if given the opportunity.

"When I look back at everything that's happened, I really do love this place," he said.

I spend more time with these people than my actual family, and I've thought about that [staying on] for quite a while… I have to say, 'Watch this space'… But if they offer me another contract, I think I'll be staying."

Speaking of family, the actor stars alongside his fiancée Ada Nicodemou on the soap, as she first played his on-screen partner Leah Patterson before the pair sparked up a real-life romance.

The couple got engaged this February on Valentine's Day, after dating for two years.
