EastEnders’ George Knight struggles with his guilt next week, as arrangements for Eddie’s funeral bring back awful memories of the moment he stood back and allowed his bigoted dad to die right in front of him.
After a mystery figure from George’s past questions his firm choice not to allow Eddie to be buried with his late wife Gloria, George feels wretched. Visiting Gloria’s grave, George grapples with extreme guilt over not saving Eddie’s life – and turns to drink to mask his pain…
George’s guilt has been causing issues in his relationship with Nicola and, seeing him struggle, his ex-wife Elaine tries to support him as a friend.
However, this leads to a further row between George and Nicola following a misunderstanding, with Nicola taking out her fury on Suki and Eve!
"Nicola has been at war with the Panesar-Unwins since Eve punched her in the face, and she directs her wrath towards them again now," reveals our source.
Helpful Phil tries to mediate between rowing Nicola and George, but it’s no use, as Nicola refuses to make up with him. However, after George hits the bottle, Nicola grows concerned about her other half and asks Harry to summon him to the club.
There, she pushes George to open up about the source of his guilt and tells him emotional tales about her own past.
As the fractured couple share their first tender moment in a long time, could Nicola and George’s relationship be on the mend? And can Nicola help him to come to terms with his guilt?
