Home and Away actor who played controversial character is missing the show - could he return?

Home and Away actor Luke Jacobz, who played a controversial character on the soap, has said he is missing the show - could this be a good time for him to return to the role?

Known for playing Angelo Rosetta on the Australian soap, Jacobz was a series regular between 2008 and 2011. He later reprised the role for a short stint in 2020.

Speaking to TV Week about his time in Summer Bay, Jacobz recalled playing some unnamed characters before being cast as a regular.

I’ve played a few guest roles that didn’t have names and Angelo has been on the show a couple of times," he said.

"I keep saying none of my characters have ever died. So, there’s always a chance to come back."

Viewers know that during his time on the soap Angelo was responsible for accidentally shooting and killing Jack Holden. He also threw Colby Thorne in prison for murdering his stepfather.

"They were two very beloved characters," Jacobz explained. "I’ve had some interesting experiences in shopping centres with some people who believe Summer Bay is real."

On whether he'd return to the soap, Jacobz said: "I absolutely miss [Home and Away]. I hope I get to keep [acting] because I’d love for my kids to grow up and say, 'That’s my dad doing that'. It just gives you another reason to try harder and to do better."

Elsewhere in the interview, the actor opened up about filming his first feature film The Birthday Trip while his wife Raychel was pregnant with their first child, Maisie.

The film follows three entitled millennial couples as they head to the luxurious Lothian Gate farmstay for a weekend trip.

My biggest fear was that I’d get down there [to film] and Raychel’s waters would break and I would miss the birth of my first child," he said.

"Raychel was extremely supportive of me and said, 'If you can come back, that’d be great. But otherwise, get down there and do what you love doing'."

The couple welcomed their first child after filming wrapped, and their second child, a boy, was born in 2025.
