EastEnders confirms huge Craig update as Amy grooming plot gets even darker...

EastEnders has confirmed a big update for Craig Ingram as the Amy Mitchell grooming plot gets even darker. Teenager Amy is at the centre of the disturbing new storyline involving herself and police officer Craig, the latter of whom is manipulating her.

Villain Craig was recently suspended for gross misconduct, though Amy is currently unaware of this. Amid his machinations, the teenager has opened up with personal stories with his encouragement, while the plot has taken an even more worrying turn with Amy choosing him over ex Denzel.

As the story progresses, Craig's manipulative behaviour will continue as Amy feels convinced that he is the only person she can trust.

In new scenes set to air next week, Amy agrees to go and see Craig at his place, though is left unsettled when he creepily suggests they sleep together. Devastated after losing his job, Amy questions him over what happened.

Jack tells Callum that Craig was being investigated over gross misconduct, though the former cop tries to twist things by painting himself as the victim, sharing his plans to leave Albert Square.

Craig tries to manipulate Amy more after she suggests that they slow down, though with Jack's own emotional struggles, she is pushed closer to Craig.

Meanwhile, in the aftermath of Denise's recent collapse, Jack speaks to Amy as they clear the air. However, he pushes for details on her boyfriend, leading her to stonewall him as she returns to Craig.

EastEnders has been working with a few charities and experts in order to portray the grooming story accurately.

"When telling a storyline like Amy’s, we have a huge responsibility to highlight and raise awareness of the warning signs of grooming," executive producer Ben Wadey previously said.

"We’re grateful to be working with Barnardo’s and End Violence Against Women to help us tell this story."
