Two figures rekindle their feelings for each other.
EastEnders will revisit a controversial romance just days after the tragic death of Zoe Slater. With several people from Walford in mourning, two figures will explore their feelings despite their own grief.
Zoe was found dead by her mother Kat during Thursday's (10 September) episode of the BBC soap, with the popular character succumbing to her injuries after she fell and hit her head earlier in the week.
Josh will also be involved in another storyline, as his storyline with Oscar Branning continues. The pair had a brief fling earlier this year, with the situation being confused by the fact that Oscar had already dated Josh's sister Jasmine.
Viewers already know from the New Year's Day flashforward episode that Oscar ends up being with one of the twins, and there are some moves to that eventuality across next week's episodes.
Though Oscar is nervous about speaking to Josh given their history, Patrick Trueman urges Oscar to reach out to his former flame given the situation. He eventually agrees, but it leads to a messy situation.
The pair struggle to contain their feelings for each other, and end up sharing a kiss. Oscar, however, is conflicted over his feelings, and abruptly severs his friendship with Josh - are they over for good?
It remains to be seen if Oscar and Josh repair their bond, but actor Joshua Vaughan - who plays the latter - admitted that the chances of a permanent relationship were "slim" due to their shared history.
"These guys have had a good rebound with each other three or four times now, and unfortunately it still hasn't worked out. I think we just need to sit down and have a good conversation, maybe have a group therapist involved and then everything can be okay!"
