Hollyoaks confirms Imran Maalik's fate after life-threatening cliffhanger

Hollyoaks has confirmed Imran’s Maalik’s fate after his life was left hanging in the balance. This week, Ste Hay was finally rescued after his kidnap ordeal, and when he was brought back to the village, Cindy Cunningham told him that it was Imran who had held him captive.

As Sienna phoned the police and Lucas told Donny the truth about Ste’s disappearance, the walls soon closed in on Imran. With Donny under the impression that Imran had a gun, armed police soon surrounded the houseboat – and when Imran reached into his pocket, he was shot, even though he didn’t really have a weapon.

Imran was left in a critical condition, and in tonight’s episode he was rushed into hospital with his devastated mum Misbah by his side.

Meanwhile, as Cindy was confronted by Leah about her and Imran’s secret plan, the police called her away to ask her some questions.

Leah was determined to get an explanation from Imran when he wakes up, but Leela prepared her for the fact that he might not survive his life-saving operation.

Sienna found Misbah in tears in the waiting room, and Misbah insisted that she didn’t know anything about what Imran was doing to Ste, while struggling to accept that her son could die.

Elsewhere, with the truth out about Imran, James was released from prison after being framed for Ste’s kidnapping – but when he went to the hospital, he realised it would take longer to repair his relationship with Ste.

When Imran came out of emergency surgery, Misbah sat by his bedside and reflected on her son’s terrible choices. But Imran then went into cardiac arrest and, horrified, Misbah immediately called for the doctors.

With the crash team working on Imran, Misbah updated Cindy on the critical situation. Cindy then decided to tell Misbah the whole truth, explaining that she and Imran were in a relationship back in LA.

Cindy insisted that she had nothing to do with what happened to Ste, saying she thought Imran was all talk and remarking that he had his own reasons for wanting revenge on Ste.

When Cindy said she had just spoken to the police, she made clear to Misbah that she didn’t tell them about her.

"Well, make sure it stays that way," Misbah said, as she gave Cindy a hug. "Or trust me, you’ll regret it."

How will Cindy respond to Misbah’s threat, and will Imran survive his cardiac arrest?
