Hollyoaks star Tamara Wall explains Grace's doubts in robbery plot

 "It's a wake up call."

Hollyoaks star Tamara Wall has explained her character Grace Black's doubts in the ongoing robbery plot.

Fans of the soap will know that, for the past few months, Grace has been planning a robbery/heist with her best friends Cindy Cunningham and Zara Morgan to save the marketplace from financial collapse.

Speaking to Inside Soap, Wall said that Grace gets cold feet when she discovers her son Curtis and Cindy's son Hilton playing with a dangerous item.

"If you're Grace Black, you hide a gun in a teddy bear and keep it in your house – who doesn't do that?!

"But Curtis and Hilton get hold of the teddy and start playing with it. Grace freaks out and it's a wake-up call as to the kind of things she's exposing her son to. Norma talking about bringing up kids in the criminal world chimes with Grace, and it makes her panic."

Touching on her character's past, Wall said that Grace decides to call off the job to protect her son from the same criminal upbringing she was exposed to.

"Grace and her sister Clare were raised by a gangster so she knows what she's talking about," said Wall. "Grace told herself this heist would be her last, then she'd start a new, goody-two shoes life with the money."

When Cindy insists on going through with the heist on her own, Wall said Grace decides to carry on with the plan to protect her friend who she describes as "becoming a little unhinged".

Teasing fans with what's to come from the heist, Wall said: "It is one of the most fun things I've ever filmed – I can describe it as madness personified, there are lasers involved and some very interesting outfits."

Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
