Who loses their life?
EastEnders has aired a dramatic death in the final episode of the life-changing week in Walford. As the sun rises after Vicki Fowler and Ross Marshall’s wedding reception, a memorable night for many residents in Albert Square, which character loses their life, and how?
This week, George returned to confront his dad Eddie after hearing about the horrific comments he made to Harry about Gina. He made it clear that this would be his final night in the house and that he would be returning to his prison cell the next morning.
George reeled from this revelation in today’s episode and told his dad that he can keep his money. He reiterated to Eddie that this would be his last night under this roof, then properly questioned him on things had bitten his tongue about until now.
Meanwhile, Gina and Harry had an honest chat about the racism in Eddie’s comments, and it was clear that Gina had been truly hurt by his remarks. She opened up about how she only realised that Eddie’s treatment was racism until she grew up and moved to London.
Gina questioned whether her relationship with Harry would be able to survive in the long run as they come from different worlds, but she thanked him for stepping up for her and the smitten pair confessed their love for each other.
Elsewhere, George and Eddie angrily discussed the past, Eddie berated his son by calling him weak and a coward for not doing anything when he killed his biological dad. He showed no remorse for his murder, showing that his previous repentance was just an act, and made another racist comment. That was the final straw for George.
"I hope you rot in hell," George said as evil Eddie took his final breaths. "I’m going to make sure you’re buried in an unmarked grave, far away from mum. It’ll be like you never existed."
Later, in the early hours of the morning, Nicola returned and made two discoveries: that George knew about her financial deal and that Eddie was dead.
As the private ambulance arrived to take Eddie’s body away, George told Nicola that he wanted nothing to do with his late dad’s filthy money. What does the future hold for both characters after this eventful night?
