David and the police are baffled.
The residents of Summer Bay have been plagued by a number of break-ins and robberies in recent weeks, with a fan-favourite Home and Away character revealed as the next target.
In scenes airing in Australia this week, Justin Morgan receives a call asking for help from someone who has broken down on the side of a deserted road.
However, once he's there, he can't see a single person or vehicle. And there's no phone signal either to call the supposedly-in-danger person.
As it turns out, Justin himself is the one in danger, as he gets out of his vehicle to examine the area... only for a hooded figure to appear out of nowhere and jump straight into his car.
Justin tries to give chase, but can't keep up.
Richie is eager to prove himself and find some evidence, but while David appreciates his enthusiasm, Cash Newman does not.
David actor Jeremy Lindsay Taylor told Australian publication TV Week: "A spate of robberies are taking place in Summer Bay. David sees this as a good opportunity for Richie to learn, asking him what he would do in this situation.
"He can see that he is eager, which brings a new energy to the station, not such a bad thing in his opinion.
"Cash is not as patient as David, and Richie seems to annoy him with his enthusiasm. David can see this and has a bit of fun teaming them up together, telling Cash to mentor the young rookie."
While David is having fun and games, people are still being affected by the crime wave. Can the trio get the bottom of who's behind it sooner rather than later?
