Will he get to the truth?
Hollyoaks’ Ro Hutchinson rallies the village for a moving memorial to Rex Gallagher next week – but Ste Hay is already wondering if James Nightingale knows more about his husband’s murder than he’s letting on!
Grieving the loss of his friend, teenage Ro decides to set up a memorial service for Rex, so asks for Rex’s widower Ste’s blessing. Once Ro has been cleared to mourn the mechanic, he sets up a beautiful service in his memory…
"Despite not knowing Rex that well, Abigail says some moving words about him, and everyone rallies around Ste as he battles the loss of his husband. It’s a difficult day, but Ste has his daughter Leah by his side.
Tony also struggles, as it wasn’t long ago that he was in the thick of his own grief for his spouse Diane…"
Despite his cloud of grief, Ste is starting to harbour his own suspicions about Martin, Rex’s killer – and when he finds James hanging around his house, he kicks him out.
Concerned that James has more to do with Rex’s murder than he cares to admit, Ste ropes his daughter Leah into his investigation…
"James disappeared for an entire year, and what he got up to in that time is still pretty uncertain, so Leah does some internet sleuthing to find out more about Martin.
"Although James wants to get back in Ste’s good books, Ste is holding off from falling back into their relationship. After all, Rex is barely cold in his grave!"
Determined to earn back Ste’s trust, James asks Beth for her help. When James comes knocking on Ste’s door with a bunch of flowers though, will it be enough to win the chef’s heart? Or is Ste closing in on the truth about Rex’s death?
